Almost There!

*Again, this was not their route for today since they were again on the C&O Canal Path.  Click HERE for the map from yesterday.

Karl and Mo traveled 79 miles today from Hancock to Jefferson, MD.  They got to Harper's Ferry and decided to keep riding.  Jefferson is about 1/2 way from the C&O Canal to Frederick, MD.

Most of the mud had dried up on the path today.  It seems like the path had been improved since Karl had been there last because it seemed smoother.  The weather was great and they had no bike problems.

Karl and Mo are spending the night at the Jefferson Motel.  The staff at the motel has been great.  They've given them rags to clean their bikes and access to a garden hose.  They weren't able to store their bikes in their rooms tonight, so they had asked if they could store their bikes out back in a fenced in area.  Instead, the staff gave them the keys to a room being remodeled and let them keep the bikes in there.  As I have mentioned before, it's amazing how on this journey Karl and Mo haven't had to look far for people that were kind.  The kindness of the staff at the Jefferson Motel has been much appreciated.

Karl and Mo are about 50 miles from home.  I'm sure he'll be busy the next couple of days, but he has promised to call me so that I can at least post that he's home.  He also said that he'd email me some pictures of the trip so that I could post them.  So, come back tomorrow and in the next couple of days and check out the new pictures.
